Rocket debris falls on village following France-China satellite launch


France and China blasted a new satellite into space on Saturday, in an increasingly rare example of cooperation between a Western power and the world’s second largest economy.  The Space Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) launched atop a Long March 2C rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in southwestern China.
